What is a Church?

The reason for this site is that I felt led to start a church that would glorify God, instead of glorifying a church leader or a big expensive building that has nothing to do with God. Over the years I’ve attended many churches of different faiths. As a result, I have noticed that although a lot of the people attending had good intentions, it became apparent that the glory was not directed toward God. It seemed to be about getting more people to grow a bank balance when it should be about finding the lost and spreading the word.

The problem we have is when our attention is on the church building or its leader, (or the love of money (1 Timothy 6:10) we tend to leave our Christianity behind and go back into the world, living as though we don’t know God. Out of this comes a large variety of problems. Anything from becoming resentful, judgemental, spiritually bullied, disillusioned, or maybe even losing faith altogether.

Now, let’s stop for a minute. If you are going to a church and getting fed spiritually, then you need to continue your fellowship with that church group, as long as God has control. It is wonderful to spend time with people who believe the same way you do. Just make sure that the focus is on God and his word and not man or bling!

As the years went by I struggled trying to start a church. Through it all, God kept leading me in other directions with his word. He revealed to me through his scriptures, that organized religion is in error. After a long time of studying and research, it became apparent how this could be resolved. This is not something that ME, MYSELF, AND I can fix. To start with, ME, MYSELF, AND I are the problem and there needs to be a way to take ourselves out of the equation. As ministers, we need to step aside and let God have the wheel. Then it hit me, Jesus was a carpenter yet he never built a church. He had the opportunity, the disciples, and the multitudes. Why not? Because he taught us that the church was within us.

Hello Church! That’s right... we together are the church. Not one man or a building filled with pride, but a church made in the hearts of his people. God built this wonderful church and gave it a most precious cornerstone. Jesus! It can never be torn down or destroyed because it is us.

I would like for this online church to point us in the direction of what God is trying to establish in every member of God’s true church! Therefore, you won't hear a lot about me or what I’m doing, because the minister needs to take a backseat and let God minister through his word.

As we continue, I will try to back up everything with scriptures. Please go to your bibles and don’t just take someone's word that they know what they are talking about. Not even me! So, jump in, and hopefully, you will be blessed.
